How is a contemporary kitchen defined?
A contemporary kitchen focuses primarily on functionality and user-friendliness, while exhibiting a minimalist and refined style. It incorporates the latest trends and innovations in materials and equipment. For example, Scandinavian kitchens can be considered contemporary in design. However, modern kitchens must not be confused with contemporary kitchens. Although they share many characteristics, they do have distinct features. For example, both kitchen styles share a minimalist appearance in an open area, with a central island separating the dining room from the kitchen. However, contemporary kitchens use natural materials rather than the smooth surfaces and industrial-style materials (stainless steel, glass, lacquered finishes) found in modern kitchens.
